public community college in Ann Arbor Charter Township, Michigan.&nbsp;This project is an imagined update to the WCC website’s interface to refresh and expand upon their existing branding standards. As an alumni of Washtenaw Community College, I made a number of design decicions in the execution of this proposed interface that I believe represent the mission of the school. I wanted to ensure that college’s very diverse student body was reflected on the school’s homepage with the use of bold, high resolution imagery. Additionally, I decided to expand upon the use of the WCC logo by using it’s consisting shapes as an active design element on the homepage. It was important to me that prospective users (students and future students) have an engaging experience with the site. School of Public Health (SPH) at the University of Michigan has long been at the forefront of innovative teaching and online education. Over the past few years, SPH has been on a mission to rapidly expand the educational offerings of the school, including new online degree programs. As a visual designer at the School of Public Health, I assisted the instructional services team in creating graphics and slides for video lectures. I used evidence-based, learner-centered design approaches to work with faculty and course teams in the development of new courses and the transformation of existing courses, and to propose graphic design solutions for complex challenges in online, hybrid, and residential learning environments. Detroit&nbsp;is an organization that collects, analyzes, interprets, and shares high-quality data to drive informed decision-making and increase data-driven outcomes in the metro Detroit area. Additionally, they conduct workshops, training sessions, and presentations across the area to increase data literacy, while empowering communities to understand the impact of using data. In partnership with Good Done Daily, I was tasked to redesign their State of the Detroit data portal microsite. This data portal serves as free public access tool that presents a variety of processed datasets, maps, and visualizations that concern children in Detroit. Keeping in mind that the subjects of this data portal are children, I used the site as an opportunity to present this information in a lively, expressive, and childlike way. Wilson Jr. Foundation Non-Profit Information Design Illustration ︎&nbsp;The Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation was created to provide permanent, endowed support for programs and initiatives that reflect the personal passions of the late Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Those areas of support are: caregivers, design and access, and&nbsp;youth sports, among others. Directors of the Foundation came to Good Done Daily with a design challenge: to organize the process of approving or denying a grant&nbsp;into a clean, effective, and well-designed workflow document. After organizing our material&nbsp;into a logical and approved process, we decided to lift the information by pairing it with lively colors, type, and illustrations. The final workflow was compiled into&nbsp;a long-form document that could be either printed or distributed digitally. Our task was to create a number of potential light pole banner designs that members of the community could vote on in their final form. The initial step in this process was a series of workshops that invited New Center residents and members of the CANCAN board to participate in the process of design by contributing drawings and sketches of themselves, houses, buildings, and landmarks in the area.&nbsp; We chose to do this to accurately represent the neighborhood that we were designing for and to let community members actively participate in the process of creation. My interpretation of New Center led to my banner designs being a sort of hybrid of the modern and historical, to represent both the neighborhood's decorated past and its changing future, through the In under a decade, Build classes have successfully graduated over 900 aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs.&nbsp; Our updated identity system focuses on Build Institute's three sub-programs, Start, Build, and Grow. We kept the idea of&nbsp;the “blocking” system but tried&nbsp;to&nbsp; create more unity &amp; connectivity in the compositions.
